INTERNATIONAL HOUSE AND...

Don Cuneo

Donald L. Cuneo ‘69 (1944–2018)  was the first alumnus to serve as President of I-House and lived at the House while earning his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Columbia University. In 1968, Don founded the  Harlem Tutorial Program  at I-House, which paired residents with neighborhood children who needed tutoring. A partner at the law firm Shearman & Sterling, he joined the Board of Trustees in 1977 and was named President in 1993. Under his  20 years of leadership,  the House achieved record fundraising success, significantly increased its endowment and financial aid to residents, and enhanced resident support services.
